Friday Finishes
Happy Friday!
Another productive sewing week for me — I’m trying to stay focused and energized before staying home drives me crazy π
First up is a UFO finish — a paper pieced mini quilt to use as a dust cover for one of my sewing machines. I used left over Cotton and Steel 5 inch squares for the star points.

The rest of the week was spent making zipper pouches and toddler activity totes. They are all different sizes. Not sure what I will do with them, just trying to reduce my scrap stash with things that I can use as gift items or sell in my shop.
Pencil Case: I’m using this one to store my Frixion pens.

This weekend I plan on making more masks for my neighbors and something for my kitchen.
This is my fabric pull for the kitchen project. Most of the fabric is from the Farm Fresh Collection by Gingiber for Moda. I believe most of the fat quarters was from my monthly subscription to Annie’s Creative Quilters Fabric Club collection. The subscription does include a pattern – I don’t think I’ll be using their pattern.
Do you have a special project for this weekend?

Hope you have a happy and safe weekend!
I think I will work on my improv projects this weekend. I need to add borders on a pattern test, but that will be today and be pretty quick. Pouches and bags are always a good, quick project. I like your fabric pull – those chickens are so fun!

I love your improv projects you have a great eye for color! I’m leaning towards a double pocket oven mitt using the chicken fabric for the pockets!

Ooo, all those cute zipper pouches! And what a great idea to use your lovely mini quilt as a dust cover for your sewing machine! I really need to do that…maybe that will be my weekend project π I’ve been sewing Safelight case sets this week.

Thanks Sharon…I’ve been procrastinating on my Safelight gifts — I hate hate Velcro. The simple dust cover is working quite well — I hope you make one!

Hi Karla. I thought you did such a fantastic job on all your projects, and I loved all the brightly colored fabric you used. Kids really like all those specialty fabrics, geared to their favorite super heroes. We have 11 great grandkids, and you have given me some inspiration to make the toddler totes for the younger ones. I made some masks yesterday and wore one to Aldi to do some shopping today. Stay safe and well.

Hi Karla! Oh dear, I just adore that Batman bag! Sue is a huge Batman fan – only the original TV show version, though. It sure looks like you have been productive as all get out. I wish some of that productivity would rub off on me. I’d really like to make a tote or two . . . when I get around to it. Take care, my friend. ~smile~ Roseanne
