Getting In the Christmas Mood
Christmas will be here soon and I am just now beginning to “feel” it π
Friend and fellow blogger Roseanne from Home Sewn By Us mentioned once I got the tree up I would start getting in the Christmas Spirit — she was right!
The weather was gloomy today in the sunshine state, so I spent most of my time in the sewing room.
I have an ongoing love affair with the log cabin quilt block! You can create many many layouts – I plan to try several.
I started my Log Cabin Star Wall hanging back in July.Β My inspiration came from a pattern on Moda Bakeshop by Marlene Biles.
I used a junior jelly roll of metallic reds ( curated by my LQS) and prints from the Robert Kaufman Holiday Flourish collection.Β My quilted wall hanging measures 44 x 44 inches.
I love it!

Happy Stitching!
I have a hard time getting in the Christmas mood, the older I get the more I feel like I care less about the season – I thought maybe if I spent part of the year making a Christmas quilt I will feel it more so as I didn’t have time as I thought of it too late I would make a tree skirt – I made it but I can’t say as it got me in the mood any more! Maybe next year?

once the kids flew the coop it seemed like Christmas became less and less worth celebrating over the years – some years it was just the two of us now one daughter is back to our area but I think as she doesn’t have children she thinks less and less of the holiday also

Hi Karla! I’m so happy the tree decorating helped with the Christmas spirit. It’s pretty hard to put one up and not feel it!! I never in a million years thought a bunch of log cabin blocks could make a star! SOOOO COOL! It is beautiful. Enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. {{Hugs}} Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne
