My Sewful Retirement

A Quilting Journey

Throwback Thursday

Hello and Happy Thursday!

We had a great time visiting  family last week.  The drive up north was absolutely beautiful — fall was definitely in the air, the colors of the leaves was breath taking. I just love driving through the mountains!

It was my grand daughter’s first birthday – she was overwhelmed with so many faces!

I got her dressed for the party —

Later — after the smash cake, with her dad and my two other kids!

Today I pulled out the last of my Autumn decor — oldies but goodies! Both wall quilts feature the maple leaf quilt block.

  2. You have a beautiful granddaughter. That tutu is just the cutest. Her cake must have been purple. I see it on the picture with your kids. Looks like she got it all over. How fun!

  3. Hi Karla!!! Love, love, LOVE these pictures. How darn adorable is she?!! That one where dad is holding her, with the little ears on. Oooh, I just want to pick her up and give her kisses. Maybe we can hook up Dominic and her in the future?!! Wouldn’t that be just the coolest?! How nice to see you, your peeps, and that you had a wonderful time. {{Hugs}} That makes my heart so happy. Happy Thursday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

Karla, she is just adorable in her pretty tutu and little shoes. I just love squeezing those chubby legs the little ones have. Our youngest great grandson is 4 months old and he has those pork hock legs. We have 10 great grandchildren and are so blessed to have them all in the Chicago area. The embroidery you did on the charm pack quilt is beautiful, and those colors make the whole thing pop. Love it.

  6. The baby is adorable, as everyone has said, but if that’s you in the first picture, you look more like her mother than her grandmother! Your fall decor is so nice, and I particularly like the star with that saying in the middle. Thanks for sharing!
