My Sewful Retirement

A Quilting Journey

Happy Wednesday!

I love when my planner has nothing but sewing on the “to do” list!

My finish today is a wall hanging. Pattern name is Evaporation found in Quilts and More Spring 2018 magazine. It is another modern version of the Log Cabin quilt block.

It was super easy to make — I spent more time cutting the fabric than actually sewing.  The wall hanging measures 52 x 52.  I used Moda Grunge fabrics – I love the distressed look of the grunge fabric line. I’ve got it temporarily hanging on the wall with straight pins (oh NO….) until I get a dowel rod to hang it properly 🙂

Of course I made another pillow with the scraps 🙂

Until next time – Happy Sewing!

  3. Hi Karla! Your star pillow is not using the same background fabric, right?? I love both projects and the quilting in both as well. It looks so crisp on the star pillow, and it really gives the wall hanging some texture. Great job on both. ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Your quilt hanging is great. I love the modern impact of it. I haven’t really figured out modern quilting yet. I love the concept but I haven’t found a pattern or idea that speaks to me yet. Your pillow looks perfect for lumbar support. Good for all our achy backs.
